Baptist Medical Group Starkville Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine
Comprehensive Lung and Sleep Care in Starkville
Baptist Medical Group-Starkville Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine brings together board-certified pulmonologists and sleep specialists in one connected practice serving Starkville, Mississippi, and the Golden Triangle region. Our team diagnoses and treats the full range of lung conditions and sleep disorders — from routine pulmonology and sleep apnea to complex interstitial lung disease, lung nodules and hospital-based critical care.
Whether you need a pulmonology consultation, a sleep study, ongoing management for chronic lung disease or an outpatient procedure like a bronchoscopy or thoracentesis, our clinic is the connected hub for that care.
Our practice is led by two board-certified pulmonology and sleep medicine physicians.
Dr. Harry Holliday is board-certified in sleep medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and internal medicine. Holliday is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Ravali Tarigopula brings pulmonology and sleep medicine expertise across outpatient consultations, lung procedures and sleep evaluations. Tarigopula also delivers hospital-based pulmonary care for ICU and inpatient patients.
Together, Holliday and Tarigopula deliver continuity of care — from your first office visit through diagnostic testing, procedures, treatment planning and long-term follow-up.

Our Sleep Lab
The sleep lab at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County is a modern, five-bed sleep center designed for comfort with private, hotel-like suites. Most patients spend a single night in the lab for a comprehensive in-lab sleep study and receive results quickly so treatment can begin without delay. Complimentary meal tickets are provided for a hot breakfast at the hospital cafeteria.
Sleep testing is available for patients age 13 and older.
Sleep Studies and Sleep Apnea Testing
- Polysomnography (comprehensive in-lab sleep study) — monitors brain activity, breathing, heart rate, oxygen levels and movement during sleep
- Sleep study for sleep apnea — the gold-standard sleep apnea test
- CPAP and BiPAP titration — calibration of positive airway pressure therapy
- Central sleep apnea treatment planning and follow-up
- Oxygen titration and administration during sleep for patients who need supplemental oxygen
- Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) — daytime nap study used to diagnose narcolepsy
- Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT) — measures your ability to stay awake during quiet periods
- Home sleep testing for select patients who qualify
Sleep disorders affect more than energy levels. Talk with your physician about a sleep evaluation if you experience any of the following:
- Chronic fatigue and excessive daytime sleepiness
- Loud snoring, gasping or choking during sleep
- Difficulty staying awake while driving
- Frequent nighttime urination
- Morning headaches
- Memory, focus or concentration problems
- Irritability, depression or mood swings
- Chest pain at night
- Weight gain and difficulty losing weight
Quality sleep affects nearly every system in the body — and treatment can make a real difference in how you feel each day.
Beyond outpatient care and the sleep lab, our pulmonologists provide inpatient care at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County — including the intensive care unit and the medical and surgical floors. Hospital-based pulmonary services include:
- Critical care consultations for ICU patients with severe respiratory illness
- Pulmonary consultations for hospitalized patients with breathing concerns
- Ventilator management for patients needing breathing support
- Central line and arterial line placement for critical care monitoring and treatment
Our team works closely with the hospital's intensive care unit and other specialty teams to deliver coordinated care.
