Care for Every Phase of Life
Whether you are planning for your first child or entering menopause, the obstetrics and gynecology team at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County provides compassionate care for women in all phases of life. Our board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists (OB/GYNs) specialize in women's health and the female reproductive system.
We deliver advanced gynecologic care — including minimally invasive surgery — in Starkville, Mississippi, with maternity services close at hand at our family birthing center.
Our hospital supports a full range of gynecologic surgeries and procedures, performed by our OB/GYN team. Common procedures include:
- Endometrial ablation — a minimally invasive option for heavy menstrual bleeding
- Robotic-assisted and laparoscopic hysterectomies — minimally invasive hysterectomy techniques that use small incisions and a faster recovery
- vNOTES — a newer minimally invasive hysterectomy approach with no external scarring (more below)
- Pelvic relaxation procedures — for pelvic organ prolapse and related conditions
- Laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy — minimally invasive removal of ovarian cysts
- Laparoscopic bilateral tubal ligation — a minimally invasive permanent contraception procedure
- Diagnostic hysteroscopy — evaluation of the uterine cavity for bleeding, polyps and other concerns
Your OB/GYN will walk you through which procedure fits your needs and what to expect from recovery.
vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) is a newer, minimally invasive approach to hysterectomy. The procedure is performed through a natural opening rather than through external incisions — meaning no visible scarring and, for most patients, less pain and faster recovery.
vNOTES is not right for every patient. Your OB/GYN evaluates your case and discusses whether the vNOTES approach fits your medical history and surgical goals.
Our women's health team includes board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists who deliver care at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County.
All three are board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and bring extensive clinical experience to every patient visit.
Our OB/GYN providers see patients at Starkville Clinic for Women, an independent women's health practice. Surgical procedures and labor and delivery happen at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oktibbeha County, where our providers have admitting privileges.

Scheduling a Visit
Most patients schedule a visit directly with Starkville Clinic for Women. Your primary care provider can also recommend an OB/GYN if you do not have one. Many insurance plans allow direct access to gynecologic care without a referral, though specific plans vary — call your insurance company or our patient access team if you have questions.
Surgery and Hospital Care
If your OB/GYN recommends a surgical procedure, you receive pre-operative instructions from the clinic and complete pre-admission with the hospital before your surgery date. Most gynecologic surgeries are minimally invasive and performed as outpatient procedures, though some require a short hospital stay.
Labor and Delivery
If you are pregnant, your OB/GYN guides your prenatal care, and your delivery happens at our family birthing center. Visit our maternity services page for full details on the Women's Center, the Special Beginnings program, breastfeeding support and what to expect when you arrive in labor.
Excellence. Empathy. Better Care.
That is the promise we live every day in our obstetrics and gynecology service. From your first well-woman visit through pregnancy, surgery and beyond, our team is here.
